Where we’re going, and where we’ve been, in sports.

This past week:

  • Pingry Girls Lacrosse knocked Kent Place out of the NJSIAA Tournament yesterday, upsetting the #5 team in the state. The win bumped #9 Pingry up to #7 in this morning's new Top 20 list. The girls face NJ.com #3 Oak Knoll in the state finals on Thursday.

  • NJ.com #5 Pingry Boys Lacrosse ended their terrific season with last week’s loss to CBA in the state quarterfinals. The boys went 16-2 overall and captured their third straight Somerset County Tournament and their second straight Bristol Bowl victory.

  • Pingry Softball battled against the #1 team in New Jersey in the state semifinals, dropping a close contest while keeping their heads high after a season that saw Big Blue win the Prep A State Title for the second time in school history.

  • NJ.com #4 Pingry Boys Tennis picked up two wins in the state tourney in the past week, sweeping Don Bosco before dominating against NJ.com #6 Montclair Kimberley Academy during a 4-1 win.

Coming up:

  • Pingry Girls Lacrosse face NJ.com #3 Oak Knoll in the state finals on Thursday.

  • Pingry Boys Tennis face NJ.com #1 Newark Academy today in the state finals.

  • After a solid showing at the “Second Night at the Horse Farm” meet last week, Pingry Boys and Girls Track are prepping for this weekend’s group state championship meet, which preceded the following weekend’s overall NJSIAA Meet of Champions.
