Pingry’s Middle School is continuing its participation in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Prior to Winter Break, the Middle School began its spelling competition with students competing in advisory spelling bees. On January 21, the winners from each advisory round competed in an all–Middle School Spelling Bee in Hauser Auditorium.

After seven rounds—including the final three with eventual runner-up Sarah Diao ’29—Sid Kamat ’30 emerged victorious by spelling the championship word: “relegated”.

Sid is now be eligible to participate in a Regional Spelling Bee at the South Orange Performing Arts Center on Sunday, March 2, 2025. The winner of the Regional Bee will move on to the 100th National Spelling Bee the week of Memorial Day at Gaylord National Resort in National Harbor, MD.
