Mags the Puppy Hits Major Growth Spurt
Sara Courtney

What began as a modest student wellness initiative has evolved into a full-scale campus infrastructure challenge this week, as Pingry’s beloved school therapy dog Maggie the labradoodle, who was supposed to grow to roughly 18-22 pounds, has added over 250 pounds during her latest growth spurt.

Originally introduced to help students manage stress during exam weeks, facilities will now have to manage the stress on the building’s support beams under the Upper School Office. Maggie’s caregiver, Upper School Office Coordinator Libby Kasserman, has had to forfeit most of her workspace, but is grateful for the support from the community. “The breeder won’t answer my calls, the groomer quit, and the veterinarian is convinced Maggie is actually some rare species of bear... but I’m just glad that the facilities team is handling doo-doo clean up after our afternoon walks.”
