Elbert Ho ’25 Named Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholar
Greg Waxberg

Pingry senior Elbert Ho has been named a 2025 Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholar. A program of Society for Science since 1942, the Science Talent Search is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors. It provides students a national stage to present original research and celebrates the hard work and novel discoveries of young scientists who are bringing a fresh perspective to significant global challenges.

This honor places Elbert among the top 300 STEM students in the U.S with his project titled “SOLD: SELFIES-Based Objective-Driven Latent Diffusion”. He has been interested in technology for over a decade and is also a member of the award-winning Upper School Math Team.

Scholars were chosen based on their outstanding research, leadership skills, community involvement, commitment to academics, creativity in asking scientific questions and exceptional promise as STEM leaders demonstrated through the submission of their original, independent research projects, essays, and recommendations.

Each year, more than 2,000 student entrants submit original research in critically important scientific fields of study and are judged by leading experts in their fields. Unique among high school competitions in the U.S. and around the world, the Regeneron Science Talent Search focuses on identifying, inspiring, and engaging the nation’s most promising young scientists who are creating the ideas that could solve society’s most urgent challenges.

Elbert is Pingry’s most recent student to be recognized by the Science Talent Search (STS). Previously, several students became semifinalists when STS was sponsored by Intel.
