Led by three senior captains this year, Big Blue is ready to hit the ice and improve upon their record.
Three Pingry seniors have been selected as Scholars, based on their academic achievement, in the 2019 National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP): Thomas Beacham, Stuart Clark, and Emily Sanchez.
The College Board initiated this program in 1983 to identify outstanding Hispanic/Latino high school students.
Each year, the NHRP recognizes about 7,000 academically outstanding students who took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) as juniors and identify as Hispanic/Latino. Students recognized by the NHRP are at least one-quarter Hispanic/Latino—based on the program’s definition—and have achieved a minimum PSAT/NMSQT score for their region.
