As Big Blue readies itself for the fall season, it hopes to improve upon its record last season, during which the team took third in the Metropolitan Independent Football League.
Miroslav Bergam ’19 is a winner of a National Merit $2,500 Scholarship, underwritten by National Merit Scholarship Corporation with its own funds. National Merit $2,500 Scholarships are the second of three categories of winners in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. Future winners will be announced in June and July.
National Merit selections take into account SAT scores and leadership and participation in school and community activities. Miroslav has served as Co-Editor-in-Chief of Pingry’s student newspaper, The Pingry Record; tutored fellow students through the School’s writing center; been actively involved with Pingry’s Student Diversity Leadership Committee; won the School’s 2018 Dr. Robert H. LeBow ’58 Memorial Oratorical Competition by raising awareness of the power of brands and advocating for non-brand products; and spent countless hours in service and community engagement through The Denan Project, a non-profit organization that provides health and development assistance to underserved people living in Peru, Mongolia, and Ethiopia.
Miroslav plans to attend Harvard University in the fall.
