For more than three decades, students accepted to the University of Chicago's Class of 2024 have had the opportunity to think back on their high school career and nominate a teacher "who played a significant role in their education, made a positive impact in their lives, and whose influence has brought them to where they are today," according to the University. Responses are regularly received from thousands of students in recognition of teachers who demonstrate the power of education to transform.
This year, Pingry is pleased to share that Director of Teaching and Learning K-12 and Upper School English Teacher Dr. Reid Cottingham was selected by Kaya Lee '20 as one of the University of Chicago's Outstanding Educators.
A virtual event celebrating Dr. Cottingham and this year's entire slate of winners is scheduled to take place at the end of the month. The University of Chicago's President Robert Zimmer, Provost Ka Yee C. Lee, and Trustee Greg Wendt will all speak.
