Last season’s highlights:
The Water Polo Team’s 2020-21 season was unfortunately cancelled, so no games were able to take place against other schools. The team still held practices led by captains Noah Bergam ’21, Justin Li ’21, Chris Halada ’21, and Jason Xiong ’21.
What to watch for this season:
● The team will be led by captains Peter Youssef ’22 and Anton Volchenkov ’22 who have both played on the varsity team since freshman year.
● John Grissinger ’23, Gordon Oatman ’23, and Matt Oatman ’23 are also looking to be strong contributors for the upcoming season.
● Granger Abuhoff is the new head coach, with several years of high school, club, and college varsity water polo coaching experience. Coach Abuhoff brings knowledge of the game, discipline, and a unique playbook. His wife Nicolle Jasbon is also part of the coaching staff—she was a three-time league MVP at Connecticut College and helps him manage the Brooklyn Wets Water Polo Team.
● Both Coach Abuhoff and Assistant Coach Jeffrey Jenkins are looking to re-establish the team and have a successful season.
