Last season's highlights:
Early into the start of last season, NJ.com published an article lauding Big Blue for raising its level of play more than any other team in the conference. Their performance at the close of the season, which saw them advance to the finals of the Prep A Tournament, confirmed the compliment. Indeed, it was one of the strongest seasons in the program's recent history. Led by captain Megan Horn '18, the team finished the season 18-9. In addition to their Prep A finals appearance, they finished second only to Somerville in the Skyland Conference Valley Division standings, and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Somerset County Tournament.
What to watch for this season:
• Head Coach Courtney Tierney, who begins her eighth season with the team, along with captains Alyson Feeley '20, Ally Hosler '19, and Solape Fakorede '19, will guide a roster of 13 players, four of whom are seniors.
• Look for Alyson, a forward, and Olivia Volpe '21 to make a big impact and jump into leadership roles.
• In addition to another strong run in the Prep A Tournament, Coach Tierney hopes to defeat some of their longstanding rivals, including Voorhees, Warren Hills, and Mt. St Mary's. Their main goals are to develop as a team and be competitive in the Conference and Prep tournaments.
• The team's first regular-season game was at home on December 15 against Kent Place (they lost in a close 58-50 battle). They will face Bernards and Somerville before the start of Winter Break, and will compete in the Stuart Invitational Basketball Tournament from December 26-27.
"We have a hard-working group who works very well together as a team—we are excited for the season!"—Head Coach Courtney Tierney
