Lucas Monserrat '17, Obi Nnaeto '18, and Shea Smith '18 are just three of more than two dozen college athletes using the Greig Center over their winter break to stay in shape.
The Maine Jewish Museum in Portland presents “A Piece of Work,” art by Pingry Lower School visual arts teacher Russell Christian, from November 11 to January 5.
“This batch of artwork is drawn from a pile of doodles and notes, marked-up scraps, half-finished drawings and paintings, walks taken down shady lanes and really shady alleyways—and time,” Mr. Christian says. “I write and perform in my artwork. The figures are all me acting, dressing up, trying to fit things together.”
His exhibit in Maine stems from his family’s decades-long connections to the state. Nancy Davidson, the museum’s Curator in Residence, says, “It is an honor to exhibit such an accomplished artist with a sense of humor who has an understanding of the human figure and color.”
