Pingry senior Allen Wu is a winner of the Bristol-Myers Squibb Company Scholarship, a Special Scholarship award sponsored by Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation, Inc.
Special Scholarships are underwritten by many of the business organizations that also provide Merit Scholarship awards for students who qualify as finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program.
National Merit selections take into account SAT scores and leadership of and participation in school and community activities. Allen has tutored writing at Pingry and written for the student newspaper The Pingry Record, and was a founding member of STEM in Place, a virtual learning program for middle school students. During the pandemic, the program taught over 900 students during a six-week period.
A new member of Pingry’s chapter of The Cum Laude Society, Allen plans to attend Cornell University.
