At the prestigious New Balance Indoor Nationals over the weekend—where the best track and field athletes from across the U.S. come to compete at the close of the winter season—Pingry's 4x800-meter relay team of Nicole Vanasse '20, Avery Schiffman '18, Cathleen Parker '19, and Ryan Davi '21 finished an impressive ninth, running 9:15.05 and breaking the school record they set a week earlier at Eastern States Championship. Big Blue was among three New Jersey teams in the top 10, finishing behind Ridge, who defended their national title with a first-place finish in 9:08.07, and Union Catholic, who finished seventh in 9:14.11.

Other individual qualifiers and competitors included Caroline Dannenbaum '20, who placed 17th in the championship pole vault; Carol Ann Perry, who placed 28th in the "emerging elite" division of the pole vault event; Nicole, who also competed in the 3200-meter championship race, placing 16th in 10:52; and Ryan, who placed 22nd in the 800-meter championship race in 2:19.
