Big Blue Beat: Boys' Varsity Tennis Team

Highlights from last season: Big Blue reached the #12 spot in's list of Top 20 at one point last spring. Captains Nikhil Rao '18 and Jonathan Huang '18 led the team to finish with a 9-8 record. In the Non-Public B North tournament, they defeated Montclair Kimberley Academy to advance to the semifinals, where they were defeated by Dwight Englewood. In the Somerset County Tournament, Pingry finished third overall; each singles player advanced to the semifinals, with Nikhil earning a win at third singles.

What to watch for this season:
• Pingry lost four players to graduation, but exciting new players on the team look to be playing well, including freshmen Sam Henriques '22, Connor Chen '22, Rohan Prabhu '22, and sophomore transfer Ryder Stine '21.

• Senior captains Luke Ittycheria '19 and Chris Yu '19 look to improve upon the team's record from last year. The players hope to defeat strong teams such as Montgomery and Blair Academy.

• The team's first match is against Bridgewater-Raritan on April 1. Head Coach Marion Weber looks forward to developing a competitive team morale and establishing team spirit and camaraderie among new and returning players.
