Meet the seven Pingry seniors—equally committed in the classroom as they are in their sport—who earned this year's conference, county, Prep, and state honors.

Dear Middle School Students,

What an incredibly strange time we are living through! I hope that you and your families are safe and healthy, and that you have been able to have a bit of down time during this very different spring break.

I’m writing to let you know that we are here for you. Your teachers and advisors have been busy working on how best to move forward with a Middle School learning experience that provides predictability and routine as well some opportunities for you to interact with your teachers and peers. We will have a combination of online class check-ins for English, math, history, science, and world language, and work that you will complete asynchronously, on your own, for all of your classes. The live check-ins will take place once a week for each of these subjects and your asynchronous work will be due once a week, all according to this schedule.

We will “meet” in advisory next Thursday and your advisor will walk you through all of the specifics. Later that day, your teachers will be in touch to let you know basic expectations for their courses as well as what your first virtual assignment will be.

What I think we will really be missing, however, will be the less formal opportunities for us to “see” each other. We will have advisory twice a week and we may experiment with other ways for us to gather in virtual community. Your teachers will also be available for you. They will be able to answer questions and check in with you live once a week and they will be available via email or Schoology to answer your questions.

In the meantime, please try to find ways to enjoy the rest of your spring break. Be with your families, visit virtually with friends, and you know that I always suggest that you spend some time reading!

We are going to be ok. We are here for you and know that you are incredibly resilient and kind and capable, and you will be there for each other.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if you just want to share something that you have been doing over break.

Best,

Ms. Piette
