How to Request a Lower School Dress Down Day

Dear Pingry Lower School Community,

The Lower School has a long tradition of “bringing sunshine” to people both near and far, familiar and unfamiliar. Not only have we participated in community service projects such as holiday food drives and collections of winter apparel, but we have also raised money for numerous charities and organizations that strive to make the world a better place.

One way in which the Lower School has raised money is through sponsored Dress Down Days. If your child/family would like to sponsor one of this year’s Dress Down Days, please contact me at with the following information:

  • Name(s) and grade(s) of the student(s) who would like to sponsor the day
  • The name of the organization, a brief description of its mission, and a link to its website
  • How your child/family became involved with this organization
  • A specific date or time of year in which this Dress Down Day would be most relevant (i.e. November would be an important time to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association because it is Alzheimer’s Awareness month)

Unfortunately, due to the constraints of our school calendar, we are not able to accommodate every request. Proposals will be selected as they are received.

Thank you in advance for your continued interest in and support of our community service activities. As anthropologist Margaret Mead said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” I look forward to hearing from you.
