This past week:

• Big Blue Baseball stayed hot and improved to 2-0 on Saturday with a 6-4 win over GSB.
  • Alex Payne '24 is looking forward to a great season. "We expect to be competitive in every game this year and win our division," he says.

 

• Big Blue Girls Track won three separate events at the NJISAA Prep Outdoor Relays. Pingry Girls’ 4x800 Meter Relay, Distance Medley Relay, and Pole Vault student-athletes finished in first place, to go along with many other impressive 2nd and 3rd place performances by their teammates!

 

• Big Blue Boys Track also won three separate events at the NJISAA Prep Outdoor Relays. Pingry Boys’ 400 Meter IM Relay, Shot Put Relay, and Pole Vault Relay student-athletes finished in first place, to go along with many other impressive 2nd and 3rd place performances by their teammates.

 

• Girls Golf had a great team win over Skyland Conference-rival Ridge last Thursday, submitting six sub-50 scores, including four at 45 or under.

 

• NJ.com preseason #3 Pingry Boys Tennis is exciting to watch, sweeping Watchung Hills on Friday, 5-0, dropping only 5 individual games out of 60. Pingry showed its depth with a shut-out at third singles, with Ethan Liu ‘25 winning 6-0, 6-0.

 

 

Coming up:

• Today at 4:00pm in Basking Ridge will be Big Blue Softball’s fourth game in as many days as Pingry hosts Bernard’s HS for a regular season rivalry match. The girls enter the game with a record of 2-1, fresh off of an exciting come-from-behind win over Ridge yesterday, and look to flex their talent among the state’s top programs. 

 

• NJ.com #10 Big Blue Girls Lacrosse enters today’s home matchup with a 2-1 record, looking to bounce back after a tough loss to #8 Rumson-Fair Haven. The girls host North Hunterdon at 4pm on Parsons Turf Field at Temares Stadium.
  • Annabelle Mahoney '24 expects the team will be strong this year. "We have a deep roster and the potential to exceed all expectations," she says. "In our past few games we have had at least 5-7 different goal scorers which makes us very hard to defend."

 

• Big Blue Baseball looks to make it three-in-a-row as they host Franklin High School today in Basking Ridge for their home opener.

 

• Big Blue Boys Lacrosse creeped into the Top 5 in NJ.com’s ranking’s yesterday, and sits at #5 as they travel to crosstown rival, NJ.com #13 Ridge, for a 4:00pm showdown today. Pingry has outscored opponents 26-3 during their 2-0 start.
  • "I would say this year we are a team with very high expectations who are trying to improve every game we play," says Graham Stevens '24. "We are well-balanced and play really well as a team. We are looking to win our third straight county title, and a state championship.

 

• Big Blue Boys Golf enters today’s match against Montgomery with a 1-1 record looking to get over .500, riding the momentum of a trio of impressive 38’s recorded by Eshaan Golchha ‘24, Preston Devieux ‘27, and Tyler Jones ‘25 during their last outing—a win over Gil St. Bernard’s.

 

• Girls Golf looks to ride recent momentum today as they travel to Vorhees for another round of play.

 

• And finally, for Pingry Boys Tennis, their next match is on Thursday, April 11, at home vs. Ridge.
