The Banned Books Club is a Club where the members read books that are banned at other schools. Some schools have banned books because they don't want the students to be reading about information about struggles that have happened in the past or uncomfortable events that are happening in our world. At Pingry, we are given the opportunity to read these books, and in our club, we take advantage of that opportunity and we read these books that may be uncomfortable topics in order to learn and help create a better future.

Footy Talks
With soccer becoming increasingly popular around the world, we wanted to make a club dedicated to bringing it to our school. If you may remember, the 2022 World Cup was one of the best eras of the school year in terms of school spirit and atmosphere. So with this club, we're hoping to bring back a similar energy by meeting 1-2 times a month to discuss contemporary soccer news, talk about important games, and hold lively debates on anything surrounding the sport. So whether you're a seasoned fan or a newcomer to the sport, our goal is to provide a welcoming environment where everyone can come together to celebrate the excitement and brilliance of soccer in all its facets.
Formula One Club
Our mission is to spread popularity of the amazing sport of Formula One. Formula One is the pinnacle of motorsport. It's more than people driving in circles. There is so much technicality, strategy, technology, and rivalry involved which makes it so exciting when you learn about it. Races are so unpredictable, anything can happen at any moment that can change the whole race and championship. Right now, Formula One is quickly gaining popularity around the world, particularly in America with there being 3 races here. Our purpose is to teach our members everything there is to know about F1 and we will even send letters to the teams and drivers.
Frisbee Club
We plan to meet at least weekly (preferably 2-3 times) occasionally compete in tournaments, and organize friendly games with other local frisbee programs (weekly). If time and interest allow, we hope to operate similarly to an official sport. During the Fall season, we will meet on the girls varsity softball field and the field near the secondary entrance (depending on availability).
Girls in Sports
As a female athlete myself, I want to create a space for girls to gather together and share experiences that are specific to their athletics. I want to help girls become more confident, become more capable, become aware of their own health and well-being, and have all of us assist each other in becoming leaders as girls in sport.
Pingry Sailing Club
This club's mission is to build a community of new and experienced sailors at Pingry! Our hope is to eventually have this club evolve into a full competitive team at Pingry, but for the beginning we will focus on teaching new sailors the basics of sailing while connecting experienced sailors and hoping to give them a chance to sail in local regattas over the weekends.
Pingry Student Athlete Advisory Council

All For Oceans
AllForOceans is an initiative with the goal of raising awareness, doing our part, and supporting one of the most crucial factors in our survival, the oceans. The Pingry AllForOceans club mission is to educate club members on what it takes to build and run a successful nonprofit organization all the while helping the environment through cleanups and raising awareness. Club members would learn how to file to become a certified nonprofit organization, how to build and grow your social media presence, and collaborate with the other Pingry clubs on community projects like cleanups, fundraisers, and more.
Backpacks for Hope
The purpose of our club is to get the Pingry School more involved with donations and charity. There are many schools in towns nearby who are not able to purchase school supplies, and sometimes even new clothing at the beginning of the school year. We are hoping that we can run different donations where students of the Pingry community can donate new or gently used school supplies or clothing to the students in underserved communities. We are also hoping to run fundraisers where the money collected goes to buying new school supplies and backpacks for these schools.
Beyond Borders
We hope to fundraise and advocate for refugees around the world. We will be raising money for local refugees and those in Greece. We will partner with international nonprofits like Lighthouse Relief, and run campaigns addressing the widespread problem of forced displacement. We hope to spread awareness of refugee needs to the school community.
Beyond the Grief
Beyond The Grief Mission is a teen led charity project that supports and raises awareness for an organization called Wings For Widows. This organization provides free financial coaching and guidance to those who are widowed. In this club, we will organize and hold exciting fundraisers throughout Pingry to raise funds for this cause. We will also learn about the struggles of widowhood, how to raise awareness for it, and what we can do to help! If you feel connected to this cause or you just want to help out, join Beyond The Grief Mission!
Birthday Wish
The A Birthday Wish Club meets every month to wrap presents for children in foster care and to talk about fundraising opportunities during the school year. A Birthday Wish Club's mission is to celebrate children in foster cares birthdays by giving them presents of their choice and personalized cards. We want to make children in foster care feel special on their birthdays and make them feel thought of and cared for. A Birthday Wish club's mission is to also spread awareness about the issues in foster care and try to make a change in the community. This club is a fun and great way to get community service hours for any amazing cause!!!
Blue Key
Blue Key is a student leadership club for students who know what makes Pingry a great school and are able to articulate those qualities in service to our community. As Blue Key members, you will be ambassadors of the school: leading tours, welcoming visitors, hosting student applicants, participating in campus events, and reaching out to newly admitted students. We are so proud of our students and we want to showcase you! For you, this is a great opportunity to give back to your school, develop your public speaking and leadership skills and share your excitement about Pingry with the wide community!
Bridges Outreach
The Bridges Club gets Pingry students involved with the Bridges Outreach organization, a New Jersey-based non-profit that provides food and other supplies to homeless communities in New York, Newark, and Irvington. Students can help organize fundraisers, clothing drives, and participate in "runs" to New York City to assist in the delivery and distribution of necessities. The club will meet once a month.
Care-Full
Care Full was initially started by upper school students in the summer of 2020. As an official nonprofit organization, we distributed care packages to the Pingry community, including masks, filters, and hand sanitizer. (If you were at Pingry in the 2020-2021 school year, you received a package in the mail from us, with your initial Pingry masks). Now, post-pandemic, we provide more for local homeless and low-income families, and we aim to promote hygiene in the community by collecting, packaging, and distributing infant and feminine care products (diapers, wipes, pads, tampons, etc.). We work closely with the Community Foodbank of New Jersey, where most of our donations go.
CECC
City Relief Club
City Relief is an organization that helps support the homeless through relief buses. They go to NYC weekly at different locations and supply the homeless with different supplies depending on the season. City Relief mainly supplies items like food, socks, and hygiene kits. Homeless Relief will be working with City Relief to support and provide aid to the organization by providing volunteers, making hygiene kits, and hosting drives. That being said, we definitely will not be going to the city weekly and will plan the schedule to accommodate everyone's schedules. Currently, our goal is to have at least two trips to the city this year.
Covenant House
Dare Devils
Denan Project
The Denan Project (TDP) Club is an opportunity for students to work closely with senior members of The Denan Project, a nonprofit organization that supports impoverished areas around the world. We will engage in several projects and initiatives throughout the course of the year to raise money and awareness for TDP, allowing club members to make a "hands on" difference in these impoverished areas. Club members will also receive the unique opportunity to learn more about the missions, goals, and history of TDP through speakers who will attend events that the club will host.
ECF Empowerment Club
The Emmanuel Cancer Foundation is a foundation dedicated to helping NJ families facing pediatric cancer. ECF does many things to support their patients and their patients’ families such as free professional in-home counseling for the whole family, emergency financial assistance, material support, and much more. During this terrible pandemic, ECF families have been particularly vulnerable. So this is where your help comes in-need. We will host fundraisers, food drives, movie nights, and a 5k. Our club is a very low commitment. If you are interested at all in helping us host any of the above and/or want to do engaging activities, join our club. It is for an incredible cause and it will be very fun!
Food for Thought
Foster Care Club

We hold various fundraisers at Pingry while also partnering with organizations such as CASA of Union County and Miriam's Heart. This club is a great way for students to get involved in community service for a good cause!
GLI
GLI educates U.S. middle and high schools students in the global movement for girls’ human rights and empowerment. The GLI program ensures that students in the U.S. gain the skills and knowledge they need to become leaders for girls’ human rights and social justice. GLI provides an organizational framework and educational materials for students to learn about human rights.
Immigrant Relations Club
Our mission is to create a relaxed environment where Pingry kids can connect with refugees. We are offering psychological support to those whose lives have been disrupted or impacted through all of the refugee camps. Those with comparable backgrounds or who are willing to share their stories could aid our endeavor by drafting letters describing their struggles and offering upbeat encouragement. With the aid of translation software, messages could be translated, and our group could hold fundraisers for the cause. Our club is supporting the general people that are affected. Like families and those that need their spirits lifted. We will be communicating directly with refugees as pen pals, and we will allow Pingry students to form friendships with refugees rather than simply fundraising for them, through English tutoring and communication.
InkBridges
The purpose of InkBridges is to support refugees and immigrants to America by writing letters. This will work as a branch of the nonprofit organization called InkBridges. We will become penpals with students all over the country by exchanging cultural values and helping each other feel emotionally supported. We hope to create an engaging community where refugees and immigrants can feel comfortable to express their feelings.
John Taylor Babbit Foundation
JTB was founded to raise awareness of sudden cardiac death like that suffered by John Babbitt, a Pingry student who collapsed and died of undiagnosed sudden cardiac death while playing basketball in 2006.The club's four main goals are: Advocacy, Education, Defibrillators, and Fundraising. We advocate to raise awareness about sudden cardiac arrest in the local and Pingry community. We educate those about the proper use of Defibrillators and how they can save lives. Lastly, we fundraise to purchase defibrillators for schools or community organizations who lack the funding to purchase a defibrillator on their own.
Lacrosse the Nations
Lighthouse Relief
Lighthouse Relief was founded on the Greek island of Lesvos in September 2015, mobilizing to provide an emergency response to arriving refugees fleeing conflict and persecution. Today, their work is focused on mainland Greece in Athens and Ritsona Refugee Camp, where they work tirelessly to meet the needs of the vulnerable populations of refugees and asylum seekers. At the Lighthouse Relief Club, we connect LHR to the Pingry community through fundraisers, promoting awareness, and engaging with the refugees in a meaningful way. In the past, the club has planned and hosted a variety of fundraisers and collaborations such as candy sales, movie nights, and writing collaboration.
MEND Club
In the MEND club, (Meeting Essential Needs with Dignity) we strengthen and support MEND's food pantry network by providing supplemental food, funds, volunteers, and a monthly forum for collaboration. MEND also advocates for policies to improve the quality of life for those in need in the County. It is an interfaith network of 22 member food pantries located throughout Essex County, NJ.
Morgan's Message
Morgan's Message strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community and equalize the treatment of physical and mental health in athletics. We aim to expand the dialogue on mental healthy normalizing conversations, empowering those who suffer in silence, and supporting those who feel alone.
Overlook Auxiliary Junior Twig
Overlook Auxiliary Twig Program is a chance to get involved with a local hospital and gain community service hours. The Junior Twig program is sponsored by the Overlook hospital in Summit, and we will work on a couple projects per year to help the hospital with funding, supplies, and anything else beneficial. The Club will meet about twice a month. This club is a great opportunity to get involved with the hospital community and to gain community service hours with your friends!
PAWS for a Cause
We are trying to raise awareness about animals’ well-being when under human control whether that be in a zoo, laboratory, farm, home, or even unrightfully hunted in their own habitat. We will also bring awareness to endangered animals and raise money for various associations that promote animal welfare. We also will try to organize some trips to different shelters to volunteer.
Pingry Buddies
Pingry Buddies is a club where groups of high school students volunteer for 1 hour per week after school and go to the Bound Brook Children's Library to play, read, and help kids with homework. Many days, we will plan special structured activities for the kids, such as board games, edible slime, and arts and crafts. It is a great way to help a community that has a need for a strong children's library because many of the kids who go to the library after school cannot go home because their parents are still at work. The club is low commitment too so you don't have to go every week (only when your available), and you get 1 hour of community service for each visit. Transportation is available but you can also drive yourself.
Planting Seeds of Hope
We aim to create a fundraiser that helps change the lives of people in South America. After working with a fundraising organization, we follow up to see all the changes created in the country. We have begun by working with the Fundacion Niños de los Andes (The Children of the Andes Foundation), which is a Colombian non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of hundreds of boys and girls who have been forced to live on the streets and sewers of Bogotá, Colombia, for over three decades. This foundation has given all these children the opportunity to know the comfort of a home, overcome malnutrition, go to school, become happy, and become productive people in their communities.
Play it Forward
Play it Forward meets bimonthly and focuses on collecting sports equipment for communities that don't have access to it. We will be conducting an equipment drive after the fall, winter, and spring seasons. The donations we receive will be given to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern NJ. This club is a great opportunity for students wanting to support other students in athletics.
Political Activism Club
Our mission is to drive positive change in our communities through active participation in local campaigns and initiatives. Students choose political initiatives they care about and will do research on candidates. Afterwards, we will get in contact with the politician/campaign staff and get involved.
SPARC
SPARC's (Special needs Peer Assistance & Resource Club) mission is to spread awareness about special needs disabilities through peer mentorship for special needs children. Some ideas we have in mind are helping special needs kids with academic work or engaging with them with fun activities, like playing games, sports, and other interactive team-building exercises!
Special Olympics Club
The Special Olympics Club will help us to find volunteers to teach athletes who play tennis with the Basking Ridge chapter of the Special Olympics. We meet weekly in the fall and spring from 12:00-1:30 on Sundays at the Pleasant Valley Courts in Basking Ridge. In the winter we meet at Chester Tennis Club from 4:00 - 5:00 every other Sunday. Volunteers do not need to commit to every session. This volunteer work will count towards your community service hours. There will also be opportunities to expand this club into other sports with the Special Olympics such as basketball or soccer. Volunteers will be able to learn how to work with athletes that have special needs and share your athletic skills with them. The club will meet every other Thursday from 1:15 - 1:30 PM in room 340.
Storywish Club
Storywish club's purpose is to create a program where high schoolers would pair up with students from one of Pingry's partner schools to help them write a children's storybook together. This storybook would get published in a limited run. Members will mentor kids and they would earn community service hours for working with them.
Student Movement Against Cancer
SMAC is a club that works with the members of the community to raise awareness about cancer. As a club, we work together with the Pingry community, the greater local community, and other SMAC teams around NJ and the Lehigh Valley area to educate others on the complexity and severity of cancer, and to work together to raise awareness and donations toward numerous different cancer awareness organizations. SMAC runs bake sales, pink outs, educational events, and much more in order to raise awareness about cancer and cancer prevention.
Student Wellness Club
Wellness club is more than just a club, but a platform available to all students. We aim to provide a healthy and inclusive environment focused around mental health and overall well-being. We plan to support mental-health organizations throughout the year and meet in room 306 during first flex every two weeks. During club meetings, we can practice breathing exercises, short yoga sessions, or just have open conversations to help relieve stress.
Sweets to Smiles
Sweets to Smiles is a baking club in which students will get the opportunity to bake a different dessert every month for various local organizations. At our meetings, club members will bring their in baked goods, help with packaging, learn about the organization we are donating to, and write notes to accompany the treats. Even if you don't bake a dessert, you can still join us at the meetings. This club is a great way to get involved in community service and have fun!
Pingry Thrift
The Pingry Thrift Store will be a sustainable clothing exchange program operating at various times throughout the year. Our mission is to reduce clothing and textile waste in the Pingry community and beyond. Pingry Fishing Club explores a wide range of environments, from fly fishing serene rivers and babbling streams to the tranquility of spin-casting lakes and ponds. We even venture out to the exhilarating world of surf and inshore saltwater fishing. This diversity allows our members to experience various techniques and environments, broadening their skills and knowledge. Our club is dedicated to creating a nurturing environment for both experienced anglers and beginners, fostering a sense of camaraderie, adventure, and respect for the natural world. We have a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of nature and the importance of conservation. Part of the club's mission is the promotion of sustainable fishing practices. We educate members about catch and release, bag limits, and responsible fishing ethics, ensuring that our activities have a minimal impact on the aquatic environment. We also participate in local clean-up initiatives to give back to the natural world that provides us so much joy.

24 Club
Honor Board
The Honor Board is a group of Upper School students—representing each Form—who aim to promote the spirit of the Honor Code within the Pingry community. As a student-driven organization, the Honor Board addresses current issues relating to honor and character in the community.
Learn More About the Honor Board
The Honor Board has three main roles:
1. TO EDUCATE STUDENTS ABOUT THE HONOR CODE’S MAJOR PRINCIPLES AND ITS APPLICATION TO DAILY LIFE.
We aim to accomplish our goal through many platforms, including speeches from community members, guest speakers through the John Hanly Lecture Series on Ethics and Morality, and small-group discussions that are designed to foster moral and ethical growth.
2. TO BE A RESOURCE TO THE COMMUNITY AS IT SEEKS TO UPHOLD THE HONOR CODE AND IMPLEMENT DISCIPLINE.
We adjudicate major cases of Honor Code violations, ensuring that the student perspective is heard by the administration. As fellow students, we are tasked with providing information and viewpoints that may be different from those of the administration. We can provide perspective on the social and academic pressures affecting students because we are often placed in similar situations.
In addition to adjudicating specific cases, during biweekly meetings, we discuss questions and recommendations posed by community members and ways in which we can solve current community issues. Discussion topics range from how to promote open yet respectful social discourse, whether in class or on social media platforms, to devising plans to reinforce the messages of a recent Honor Board event.
3. TO SERVE AS VOICES OF MORALITY AND ETHICAL ACTION WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY.
As representatives of our school’s Honor Code, we strive to embody its spirit and lead by example. We also strive to be welcoming, approachable, and respected members of the community.
Student Government
The student government embodies the ideals and beliefs of the students and faithfully serves their best interests through the coordination and oversight of student activities. The student government strives to advance and unify the school by promoting good citizenship and encouraging school participation. It acts as a liaison between the administration and the student body and may, with the guidance and approval of the administration, recommend changes to school policy.
