Volunteer Opportunities

PSPA Big Blue Pride boosts school spirit by rallying pride to recognize all that our students do outside of the classroom. We encourage participation from the whole Pingry community and celebrate the students at various arts, academics, and athletics events.

Join this reimagined committee to help spread Big Blue Pride. There are many volunteer opportunities throughout the year including helping to plan events, such as our annual Pingry on Ice community skating event, as well as helping to distribute food and giveaways at specific Big Blue Pride events. Volunteer opportunities exist at each campus and for all-school events.

Volunteer at this exciting annual all-school event that brings the community together for an evening of fun, food, and football! This family-friendly social event coincides with the only evening Varsity home football game of the season—played under the lights! We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make the night special. Opportunities include distributing food and handing out giveaways. This is a fantastic way for parents of all grade levels to get involved and support our school community. Sign up for a shift and be part of this memorable night!

Join the PSPA and Pingry's Department of Community Engagement and Impact for our annual all-school service event honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebrate community spirit with hands-on projects for all ages. Parents and students are invited to participate in one of the PSPA's biggest and most rewarding events of the school year. While the MLK Day of Service takes place in January and we encourage attendance at the event, planning takes place during the fall and we welcome all volunteers throughout the planning process.

Be part of a team that organizes memorable celebrations and thoughtful tokens of appreciation for Pingry Faculty and Staff across all school divisions. Help us say thank you in a special way for the incredible work they do!

The Pingry Fund bridges the gap between tuition and the true cost of a Pingry education. Volunteers connect with fellow parents to encourage their participation. Sign up, and the Office of Institutional Advancement will provide more details.

Interested in Pingry's sustainability efforts? Join the PSPA Sustainability Committee to help organize outdoor events on campus and support Pingry's sustainability initiatives at school, such as at the annual MLK All-School Day of Service and the annual Raritan Headwaters Association Stream Cleanup events.

If you have limited time or aren't sure where to start, our Flex Volunteer opportunities are perfect for you! These one to two-hour commitments are related to one-time events or special occasions, making it easy to get involved at your convenience.

For each grade, we have one Parent Social each year. Bring parents from your child's grade together for a fun evening at your home or a venue of your choice. You can host alone or team up with other families. Interested? Let us know, and we'll share more details!

Join us as we partner with local organizations to support their efforts to increase access to nutritious food through food pantries, fresh food markets, and healthy home deliveries. Volunteers and Donations needed!

Middle School Parents: At this annual event for our Form II students and families hosted by Pingry, we celebrate the incredible growth our students have experienced in Middle School. Join this newly formed committee and help organize various components of the Form II Retrospective including two photo displays and class t-shirts. While the event occurs towards the end of the school year, planning begins a few months earlier with various volunteer opportunities throughout the planning process.

Upper School parents, join us to help make our graduation events unforgettable! Your assistance with decorations, photo sessions, graduation day, and post-graduation celebrations adds that special touch to our students' big day. While the event takes place in June, planning for events begins late fall and various volunteer opportunities occur throughout the school year.

Assist the school store staff in The Bear Pause. Shifts for the current school year are full, but please submit your interest for potential sub spots, as well as shifts for next year. Please note that the school store is run as a business, so the staff rely on your commitment and dedication. You would be working at the front counter and will be assisting staff with various tasks. Training for the point of sale system generally takes place in August.  The volunteer coordinator for the school store will contact you to schedule training, and the commitment is a half day shift every-other-week from September through June.

Join the Lower School Arts & Beautification Committee and help support the Art Department throughout the year. Participate in activities like seasonal decorating, displaying student artwork, and window painting—no artistic ability required!

A fun night of BINGO! Assist with set-up, registration, and chaperoning the pizza picnic before Bingo Night. Your help with prize distribution and crowd control will ensure a fantastic evening for all participants at this Winter event!

Get involved in the excitement of the Lower School Book Fair! This fall reading event brings the books kids want to read right into our school, and features a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books, including bestselling titles geared towards our younger readers, from Kindergarten to Grade 5. Volunteers are needed to help set up, break down, cashier, assist younger students with book selection, and participate in the Bear Pause table.

Be the bridge between PSPA Grade Representatives, parents, and the school for your child's class/grade! As a Class Parent for Grades K, 1, 2, and 3, and a Grade Parent for Grades 4 and 5, you'll assist with party planning, field trips, and Pingry Faculty and Staff appreciation, directly impacting your child's school experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to get to know more parents within your child's grade and the teachers of that grade level. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with PSPA Grade Representatives in other grades and with other Pingry Faculty and Staff.

Grade 5 Parents: Get ready for an exciting journey with Grade 5 Moving Up at the Short Hills Campus! While the moving up day celebration takes place during the final week of the school year, planning for festivities like a video montage, class party, and class gift begins in the late fall and continues throughout the following spring.

Join us as a Short Hills Campus Library Volunteer and be part of the reading adventure! Assist with checking in books, shelving, and occasional projects. Training sessions are required and provided before volunteering for regular shifts—upcoming volunteer slots with days and times TBD. Be on the lookout for more information to follow once signing up!
