Dear Upper School World Languages Students,
In order to start the new school year on the strongest possible footing, you have some required summer work to review the skills you have already learned. These packets are mandatory and due on the first day of class. Most of your teachers will either collect it or ask you to correct it using a key they have made, and then test you on the concepts during the first week of school in September.
Not using your language for three and a half months (with no review) leads to real learning loss. By completing this summer review, you will be paving the way for a smoother start to the year, and you will begin learning new skills much earlier in the year.
All you need to do is click on the course for which you are enrolled to access the assigned work, and then get to work. Many of your teachers have linked outside or self-created resources to help you review the skills before writing your responses. You will need to use your Pingry-issued email address in order to access the summer work and supporting review materials.
If you have any questions about these materials, feel free to contact me or your former language teacher. I do not reply as quickly over the summer as I do during the school year—I will be away until mid-August.
Enjoy the rest of your summer, and do your absolute best on this work to ensure the strongest possible start to the coming school year!
Sincerely,
Mr. Steven Benoit
