Lower School Health and Wellness Information

Dear Lower School Families, 

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to reinforce our commitment to ensuring the health and wellness of our community. We are dedicated to providing our students with a safe and nurturing environment and have implemented medical practices to support this commitment. We look forward to working together with you to keep our community safe.

• The Lower School is a nut-aware campus, which means that all snacks and meals are prepared in a nut-free environment. Pingry partners with SAGE Dining to ensure that our community has access to delicious and nutritious snacks and meals throughout the school day. 
   
• We encourage families to visit Sage Dining's website for complete daily menus and a list of allergens in their food offerings. This will help to ensure students have the most up-to-date information when selecting meals.
   
• Outside food is not permitted, with the exception of school-safe treats that are in their original, unopened packaging and approved by our school nurse. Students who have asthma that require an inhaler or allergies that require an Epi-Pen must have their medications on campus at the Lower School, in accordance with their Asthma and Allergy Action Plans. These medications will be stored in the Health Office and managed by the School Nurse. On the first day of school, the School Nurse will receive your child’s medication from you upon arrival. All medications must be in their original packaging with the prescription label visible. If you have any questions, please contact the School Nurse directly.
   
• If students require prescription medications throughout the school day, please contact the School Nurse before the first day of school to make appropriate arrangements.
