Big Blue will welcome new and returning talent as they look to advance further in the conference, county, and state tournaments this fall.
At the close of the 2018-19 school year, Nat Conard will conclude a 14-year tenure at The Pingry School, making him the fourth-longest serving headmaster in the school’s history, and the longest in some 50 years. Among his accomplishments, he shepherded the successful Blueprint for the Future capital campaign, which raised over $75 million, the most ever for the school; launched and implemented the 2007 Strategic Plan, in addition to developing and unveiling the 2018 Strategic Plan; led a transformation of the student body and faculty and staff with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion initiatives; and guided tremendous expansion and modernization efforts on both campuses.
Over the next year, as we honor Mr. Conard’s legacy and his role in helping to shape Pingry’s future, we also turn our attention to a search for his successor. In order to oversee this process, the Board of Trustees has formed a Search Committee, co-chaired by Stuart Lederman ’78 and Katie Procter P ’22, ’26. The Committee will partner with Spencer Stuart, the search firm that Pingry has retained to direct the recruitment process. In keeping with best practices outlined by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), the Board of Trustees is responsible for the ultimate hiring decision, with counsel from the Search Committee. In advance of that decision, the Search Committee will actively seek input from members of the Pingry community.
