Letter from the President
To our Pingry community,
I address you as such because, despite the myriad of zip codes which grace the pages of our Handbook, we are, first and foremost, a singular unit. In my three years at Pingry, I have come into contact with some of the most caring and supportive people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. In the upcoming school year, making a lasting contribution to this community should be a goal for each of us.
The greatest way to improve Pingry as a whole is for its individuals to offer it the very best that they can. While some may excel on the playing fields, some in front of an audience, and still others in the classroom, each effort is equally important to fulfilling the Pingry tradition of honor and excellence. With the incredible opportunities available to all of us, we should be ready and willing to take advantage of them upon crossing the Upper Commons in September.
With student government and the senior class under fresh leadership for the 2007-2008 school year, the student body should expect more and new ideas for their upcoming semesters. Renewed emphasis on the spirit of our Honor Code, environmental awareness through the budding Green Group, and an expansion of student-organized social events already on the calendar will revitalize life on campus, both inside and outside of the classroom.
As the new school year approaches, take a moment to consider what matters most to you, then devise a plan of action to bring its success to life. If every member of this extraordinary community of people gives their best to each other every day, this academic year will see some of the greatest accomplishments ever achieved at Pingry. With the support of a truly awesome faculty, staff, and student body, I anticipate an exciting and memorable year. Let’s make this school ours.
Sincerely,
Jessica Westerman
President, Pingry Student Government
