Career Networking & Mentoring

Career Day

Career Day is an annual event sponsored by the Pingry Alumni Association. This overwhelmingly successful event brings back over 40 Pingry Alumni in the following fields:

  • Applied Science
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Finance and Asset Management
  • Green/Environmental
  • Law
  • Marketing Communications
  • Media
  • Medicine
  • Performing Arts
  • Psychological Services
  • Public Service
  • Sports Marketing/Management
  • Visual Arts

Following a keynote speaker address for all participating students and alumni, alumni speakers give three 40-minute presentations about their career paths. Alumni typically present in groups of 2-4 to 10-20 juniors and seniors.  If you are interested in participating in Career Day, contact Rebecca Patterson, Assistant Director of Alumni Relations & Annual Giving at (908) 647-7058, or rpatters@pingry.org.

Mentoring Program

The Pingry Mentoring Program is in line with Pingry’s mission “to foster in students a lifelong commitment to intellectual exploration, individual growth, and social responsibility by inspiring and supporting them to strive for academic and personal excellence within an ethical framework that places the highest value on honor and respect for others.” The program draws upon the expertise and passion of Pingry alumni, friends, and parent mentors to affect professional growth in Pingry mentees. The Pingry Mentoring Program is sponsored by the Pingry Alumni Association and is implemented by the Pingry Mentoring Committee and the Pingry Office of Alumni and Development.

The Pingry Mentoring Committee pairs mentees one-on-one with mentors who provide professional expertise and career advice. Each fall and spring mentee and mentor participants are thoughtfully matched based off of commonalities in their personal and professional profiles.

Throughout the year-long program, mentors and mentees communicate and meet regularly based upon agreed-upon terms that best suit them. In addition to these individual interactions, pairs are required to complete a six month and one year survey of their experience.

The Pingry Mentoring Program is not intended to be a job/internship placement service; however, we hope that our mentees see this program as an opportunity to meaningfully connect with Pingry Alumni and to gain worthwhile career and networking advice.

If you are a Pingry Alumnus/a looking for a job or internship, please visit our Pingry Alumni LinkedIn group, which is a valuable tool to connect with other Pingry Alumni.

We also encourage you to attend upcoming networking opportunities hosted by the Pingry Office of Alumni and Development or you can download the Pingry Alumni Connect app to expland your alumni network.
