John & Louisa Ackley Scholarship Endowment Fund

The John & Louisa Ackley Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 2003 to provide support to a financially deserving student who is preferably a resident of Rahway, New Jersey.  Please Note: This Scholarship is fully funded and is no longer accepting additional gifts.

Alam Scholarship Endowment Fund

Established in 1994 by Dr. Abu Alam and Dr. Rozana Alam, the Fund provides assistance to deserving students who might otherwise be unable to attend The Pingry School.

Charles Brown Atwater '31 Scholarship Fund

The Charles Brown Atwater Scholarship Fund was established in 1984 by The Bunbury Company, Inc. in honor of Charles Brown Atwater, a charter member of the class of 1931.

Stephen Lee Baldwin ’58 Scholarship Fund

The Stephen Lee Baldwin ’58 Scholarship Fund was established in 1980 by Mr. Carl J. Kreitler, Jr. and Mr. G. Wade Staniar in memory of Stephen Lee Baldwin ’58.  The need-based Scholarship Fund gives preference to a male involved with athletics at The Pingry School.

Bristol Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Bristol Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by Mr. Michal W. Bristol '49.  The need-based Scholarship Fund gives preference to minority students and shall not exceed half of the total scholarship awarded to a recipient.  Selection is based on leadership potential, academic effort, academic achievement and athletic effort.

Madeleine Wild Bristol Scholarship Fund

The Madeleine Wild Bristol Scholarship Fund was established in honor of Madeleine Wild Bristol.  Reflecting Mrs. Bristol’s love of music, the Fund provides a yearly award of $1,000 to a talented Pingry music student and no fewer than two scholarships covering at least 80% of tuition to students in need.

Percy H. Buchanan '12 Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Percy H. Buchanan Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 1992 by Peter T. Buchanan ’52 in memory of his father, Percy H. Buchanan ’12, and assists deserving Pingry students in need of financial aid.

Jacob and Eugenie Bucky Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Jacob and Eugenie Bucky Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by Mr. Robert C. Thomson, Jr. ’29 and the Jacob and Eugenia Bucky Memorial Foundation to assist deserving Pingry students in need of financial aid.

Miller Bugliari ’52 Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Miller Bugliari ’52  Scholarship Fund was established in 1996 through a challenge grant in honor of Miller Bugliari and the tremendous impact he has had on The Pingry School.  The need-based legacy scholarship fund is awarded to qualified students who are children or grandchildren of Pingry alumni.  Should no legacy students qualify for financial aid in any given year, funding will be used to assist students of faculty members.  Please Note:  This Scholarship is fully funded and no longer accepting additional gifts.

Carr Family Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Carr Family Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by the late Margaret Patterson Carr in memory of her father, William Collette Carr, class of 1886, and her brothers, William Collette Carr, Jr. ’23 and Nelson Lovell Carr ’24.  The Fund also includes a gift from Mr. Nelson Carr previously designated to the Pingry Alumni Association Scholarship Endowment.  The Carr Family Scholarship Endowment Fund provides need-based financial aid to deserving Pingry students.

James R. Douglas ’30 Scholarship Endowment Fund

The James R. Douglas ’30 Scholarship Endowment Fund, established in memory of James Douglas ’30, provides need-based financial assistance to a deserving Pingry student.

Edward Cissel '39 SEEDS Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Edward Cissel SEEDS Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by Mr. John H. Scully ’62 in honor of Edward Cissel ’39 to provide a financial scholarship to one SEEDS Scholar, ensuring his or her ability to attend The Pingry School.

Class of 1951 Scholarship Fund

The Class of 1951 Scholarship Fund was established by members of the class to commemorate their 50th reunion.  The Fund provides assistance to deserving Pingry students in need of financial aid.

Timothy C. Cornwall '64 Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Timothy C. Cornwall '64 Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 1983 by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph C. Cornwall in memory of their son Timothy ’64.  The Fund provides need-based scholarships to one or more students in the Upper School, including SEEDS students, who come from disadvantaged backgrounds and have demonstrated qualities of character and scholarship that show promise of enriching life on campus and bringing credit to themselves in later life.

Vincent C. DiGiorgio '77 Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Vincent C. DiGiorgio '77 Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1995 in memory of Vincent DiGiorgio ’77.  In honor of Vincent’s daughters, the need-based Scholarship Fund gives preference to female students.

Ronald Dreesen ’51 Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Ronald Dreesen ’51 Scholarship Endowment Fund was established through a bequest from the Estate of Mr. Ronald Dreesen, a 1951 graduate of The Pingry School.  A wonderful supporter of Pingry, Mr. Dreesen felt strongly that his many successes in life were due to the opportunities he was afforded while at the School.  Mr. Dreesen established the need-based scholarship to assist students who may otherwise be unable to attend The Pingry School.

Dunphy Family Scholarship Fund

The Dunphy Family Scholarship Fund was established in 1996 in order to provide need-based assistance to African American or Hispanic students who may not otherwise be able to attend The Pingry School.

Joseph G. '35 and Jane D. Engel SEEDS Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Joseph G. '35 and Jane D. Engel SEEDS Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by Mr. and Mrs. Engel to support one New Jersey SEEDS Scholar attending The Pingry School.

William V. Engel ’67 Scholarship Endowment Fund

The William V. Engel ’67 Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by Michael F. O’Neill in honor of William V. Engel ’67 and his dedication and commitment to The Pingry School.  The Fund enables students to attend Pingry who would not otherwise know about or be able to obtain an independent school education and who can contribute to the economic and cultural diversity of Pingry.  Preference is given to students from a family where neither parent has attended college.

Frederick G.H. Fayen II Scholarship Fund

The Frederick G.H. Fayen II Scholarship was established by Dr. John D. Young to honor Mr. Fred Fayen, teacher of humanities and college counsel, for his 45 years of service to Pingry, and who is an unwavering symbol of excellence, dedication, and every positive quality that The Pingry School has stood for since its founding.  This Fund also honors Mr. Fayen’s passion for educating the children of faculty and staff by ensuring that admitted faculty and staff children who require financial aid have access to funds that will allow them to attend and continue the Pingry tradition fostered by their parents.

Edward E. Ford Foundation Scholarship Fund

The Edward E. Ford Foundation Scholarship Fund was established through a challenge grant from the Edward E. Ford Foundation.  The matching funds were raised during fiscal year 1998, and the Fund provides need-based scholarships to students who may otherwise be unable to attend The Pingry School.

E.J. Grassmann Scholarship Endowment Fund

The E.J. Grassmann Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 1992 by the E.J. Grassmann Trust to provide need-based financial aid to deserving Pingry students.

John Hanly Scholarship Endowment Fund

The John Hanly Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 1999 to honor the legacy of one of Pingry’s most beloved Headmasters.  John’s positive influence on the school is still evident today through our culture of respect for and service to others and our continued commitment to academic excellence, community and a diverse student body.  The Fund assists deserving Pingry students in need of financial aid.

Hayden Foundation Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Hayden Foundation Scholarship Endowment Fund was established through a matching grant from the Charles Hayden Foundation to provide need-based assistance to deserving students who wish to attend The Pingry School.

Hetzel Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Hetzel Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund was established through the estate of William T. Hetzel ’36.  The Fund provides two need-based Memorial Scholarships: one in memory of William, awarded to a male student; and one in memory of his sister, Nathalie, awarded to a female student.

John W. Holman Jr. ’55 Scholarship Endowment Fund

The John W. Holman, Jr. ’55 Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in honor of John Holman, Jr. ’55 in recognition of his continued dedication and commitment to The Pingry School.  The Fund assists deserving Pingry students in need of financial aid.

Homestead Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Homestead Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by Mrs. Jane Engel in memory of her husband, Joseph '24, to provide need-based financial aid to deserving Pingry students.  

Henry H. Hoyt ’45 SEEDS Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Henry H. Hoyt ’45 SEEDS Scholarship Endowment Fund was established to provide financial scholarships to four SEEDS Scholars, ensuring their ability to attend The Pingry School.

Kindfuller Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Kindfuller Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 2001 by Andrew and Kenwyn Kindfuller.  The Fund provides assistance to a student who might otherwise be unable to attend The Pingry School with preference given to an African-American student.

Joseph LaValley Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Joseph LaValley Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in memory of Joseph LaValley, a beloved Pingry history teacher and boys’ basketball coach.  The need-based scholarship is awarded to a worthy student who may otherwise be unable to attend The Pingry School.

The Robert A. Lawrence, Jr. ’78 Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Robert A. Lawrence, Jr. ’78 Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by members of the Pingry Class of 1978 in memory of Robert A. Lawrence, a fellow classmate, who was a victim in the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001.  The Fund provides a need-based scholarship to students in single-parent families who may not otherwise be able to attend The Pingry School.

Vincent L. Lesneski Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Vincent L. Lesneski Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1973 by the Pingry Alumni Association in memory of Pingry’s beloved coach, Vincent Lesneski.  The need-based scholarship is awarded to a deserving student who shows sincere interest in athletics.

Macrae Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Macrae Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by Douglas Macrae ’77 to help support a worthy scholar-athlete who may otherwise be unable to attend The Pingry School. 

Mark D. & Victoria B. McClain Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Mark D. & Victoria B. McClain Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by John '45 and Virginia McClain.  The need-based scholarship is awarded to a deserving student who might otherwise be unable to attend The Pingry School.

Meta C. Mergott Foundation Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Meta C. Mergott Foundation Scholarship Endowment Fund was established to provide need-based assistance to worthy students who may otherwise be unable to attend The Pingry School.

Parker Road SEEDS Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Parker Road SEEDS Scholarship Endowment Fund was established to support SEEDS Scholars, ensuring their ability to attend The Pingry School.

Neha Pathak ’98 SEEDS Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Neha Pathak ’98 SEEDS Scholarship Endowment Fund, named in honor of Pingry’s first SEEDS student, was established to provide a financial scholarship to one SEEDS student, ensuring his or her ability to attend The Pingry School.

Pingry Alumni Association Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Pingry Alumni Association Scholarship Endowment Fund was established to provide need-based assistance to deserving students who may otherwise be unable to attend The Pingry School.

Pingry School Parents’ Association Scholarship Endowment Fund

The PSPA Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by The Pingry School Parents’ Association to provide need-based assistance to deserving students who may otherwise be unable to attend The Pingry School.

Edward C. Scott Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Edward C. Scott Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 1995 by Daniel Markovitz and others in honor of the legacy left by of one of Pingry’s beloved coaches, Edward Scott.  Throughout his 27 years of coaching track and field, Mr. Scott touched the lives of countless students, supporting each and every one to their greatest potential.  The need-based scholarship is awarded to deserving students who may otherwise be unable to attend The Pingry School.  Preference is given to a student who is a track and field athlete and is committed to the sport, regardless of the competitive level that he or she has attained; a minority student; and a student from poorer geographic regions of New Jersey.

Scurci Family Scholarship Fund

The Scurci Family Scholarship Fund was established to provide financial support to students involved in a variety of scholastic and extracurricular activities who possess a demonstrative willingness to take on leadership roles and who would not otherwise be able to attend Pingry.

Carol and Park B. Smith ’50 SEEDS Scholarship Fund

The Carol and Park B. Smith ’50 SEEDS Scholarship Fund was established to provide financial support to one SEEDS Scholar, ensuring his or her ability to attend The Pingry School.

L. Dean Speir Scholarship Endowment Fund

The L. Dean Speir Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 2000 by Mr. William S. Beinecke ’31 in honor of Mr. L. Dean Speir to provide financial assistance to one or more qualified students who might otherwise be unable to attend The Pingry School.

William Miller Sperry Scholarship Endowment Fund

The William Miller Sperry Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 1989 by Mr. and Mrs. William S. Beinecke ’31 in memory of William Miller Sperry.  The scholarship provides up to the full tuition for one or more qualified students who require financial assistance.

E. Laurence Springer Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund

The E. Laurence Springer Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund, named in honor of the former Headmaster, was established to provide financial assistance to deserving students who might otherwise be unable to attend The Pingry School

Henry G. Stifel III '83 Scholarship

The Henry G. Stifel III Fund was established in 1998 to recognize and honor the recipients of the Henry G. Stifel III Award since its inception in 1984.  The Fund, which offers need-based financial aid, is awarded in honor of all Stifel Award recipients to a student who would otherwise be unable to attend The Pingry School.

Charlie Stillitano Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Charlie Stillitano Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by Leo Stillitano ’76 and Charlie Stillitano, Jr. ’77 in memory of their father.  The Fund provides need-based assistance to students, preferably soccer players, who may otherwise be unable to attend The Pingry School.

Norman B. Tomlinson ’44 Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Norman B. Tomlinson ’44 Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 2005 by Mr. Tomlinson.  The Fund provides assistance to deserving students who might otherwise be unable to attend The Pingry School.

Miles Hodsdon Vernon Foundation Scholarship Fund

The Miles Hodsdon Vernon Foundation Scholarship Fund provides need-based support to deserving students who may otherwise be unable to attend The Pingry School.

Voldstad Family Scholarship Fund

The Voldstad Family Scholarship Fund was established in 2003 to provide need-based financial support to deserving Pingry students.
