They are among more than 15,000 finalists in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program. Pingry has had 51 finalists over the past five years, and all of this year's finalists advanced from the semifinals.

This number has not been matched since the spring of 2010. These players' dedication to the sport bodes well for a strong season this spring. Among them, JC Sorenson '15 has been invited to sign a National Letter-of-Intent for the University of Michigan.

The senior is among 1,600 semifinalists in this program that, according to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, "was initiated in 1964 to recognize academically-promising black students throughout the nation."

These seniors placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2015 competition. Pingry has now had 176 Commended Students over the past five years.

Congratulations to our student-athletes, coaches, and trainers on their 2013-2014 campaigns in which they brought home 6 team state championships for Big Blue.

Our Pingry seniors will be heading off to 69 different schools after graduation. There are 32 seniors bound for the Ivy League, and 28 of our student-athletes have been recruited to compete for Division I and Division III sports programs.

We have 28 senior recruits who will be continuing their athletic careers on college sports teams next year, including three seniors who signed Division I national letters of intent. Go Big Blue Recruits!

Pingry formally welcomed 12 new seniors into this prestigious academic honor society modeled after Phi Beta Kappa. There are now a total of 26 seniors from the Class of 2014 who are members of The Cum Laude Society.
