Summer AcademicS
This summer at Pingry, we provide a variety of academic opportunities on nearly every level. Whether your child is entering Kindergarten and would like help transitioning into his or her first academic experience or is a rising senior with an eye on college, we have outstanding programs to meet their needs and interests. Our teachers specialize in providing excellent, age-appropriate instruction in a personal and encouraging environment.

Pingry Hi-Tech Camps

REACH: SAT Preparation and College Essay Writing Workshop
The REACH Program provides the ultimate jump start to college preparation. This two week workshop focusing on SAT preparation and the college process provides students with the opportunity to reach higher with their post high school academic aspirations.

Course Descriptions
Short Hills Registration and Health Form
Language Arts (Grades 2-5; groups divided by age and reading level)
This program will use short stories as a way to drive deeper reading comprehension. Children will also develop their creative and expository writing and expand verbal skills through use of sensory language.
Math (Grades 2-3: Number Sense and Problem Solving)
Students will explore strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems using manipulatives and critical thinking processes.
Math (Grades 4-5: Problem-Based Learning & Hands-On Explorations)
Using Pingry’s Kitchen Garden as a foundation and outdoor classroom, students will investigate concepts in geometry and measurement.
Spanish
Students will learn basic vocabulary and grammar in a dynamic atmosphere; the course is strongly recommended for new Spanish students.
Technology
Students will work with a variety of multimedia applications; students will also sharpen research skills and create an electronic slide show!

Hooked on Books
This special program integrates dramatic play, math, art, and language arts to help prepare children to enter the full day school setting. Grade 1 students will engage in more challenging versions of the activities.
Renaissance Kids
Students will explore color and shape with paints, markers, and collage. Attention will be given to craft and self-expression. Students will also experiment with pitched and non-pitched instruments. They will also engage in hands-on activities in Pingry's Kitchen Garden!
