Summer Day Camp
New "Bring a Buddy" Program!
Refer new campers who enroll in our summer day camp and earn the following discounts:
Two full weeks of camp: $100 off your registration! Three or more weeks: $200 off your registration! (Must be five day a week campers)
Camp Philosophy We are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment where children explore new opportunities, make great friends, and come home with a smile each day! Pingry’s beautiful 200+ acre campus provides plenty of outdoor and indoor recreation for a fantastic summer experience. From ages three to thirteen, we offer a full day of activities so there is something for everyone, from swimming and soccer to performing arts and scavenger hunts. With experienced counselors and coaches, many from Pingry, we combine the best of athletics, arts, games, and enrichment opportunities.

Cubs (Ages 3-K)
“My child comes home with a smile on her face every day. I love the personal attention she gets at Pingry!” is just one great response we received from our summer surveys. The Cubs' summer experience includes age-appropriate games, arts and crafts, drama, movement, and daily swim instruction.
Campers are placed in small groups based on age and maturity; each group has two adult counselors and two to three assistants (a ratio of less than 4:1)
- Daily Lunch is included with fresh vegetables from Pingry’s own school garden!
- Campers utilize our spacious outdoor facilities for soccer, T-ball, and other athletic games.
- Campers are given daily one-on-one swim instruction; swimming progress is communicated through weekly updates.
- Our Jumpstart Academic Skills Program includes writing, reading, math, and other skills that will be practiced every day to prepare your child for Kindergarten.
- Special Days include the Talent Show, Swim Day, Magic Show, Clowns, Theme Days, Family Cookout and Carnival, and more!
- Three and four day options are also available for the Cubs.
Bears (Grades 1-4) and Big Blues (Grades 5-8)
The Bears enjoy a comprehensive program tailored to their age groups. Their schedules are packed with a variety of outdoor and indoor activities including sporting games, arts and crafts, drama, swim instruction, and more! Plus, they will also have the opportunity to choose electives from the list below.
Big Blues will have a greater element of choice in their schedules. In addition to the traditional program which includes a variety of outdoor and indoor activities such as sports, arts and crafts, drama, games, and swim instruction, they select specific activities that interest them most. See list of electives below.
- Bears and Big Blues are placed in small groups organized by grade and gender; each group has one adult counselor and one or two assistants (approximate ratio of 15:1).
- Daily Lunch is included with fresh vegetables from Pingry’s own school garden!
- Campers utilize our spacious outdoor facilities for soccer, T-ball, and other athletic games.
- Campers are given daily swim instruction with weekly progress updates.
- Special events include the Scavenger Hunt, Video Truck, Big Blue Dance Contest, Family Cookout and Carnival, and more!
Electives NEW IN 2013!
In accordance with our camp-wide themes, Bears and Big Blue campers are able to choose weekly electives. Offerings will include:
- Models
- Rocketry
- Computers
- Cooking
- Hip-Hop Dance
- Improv
- Water Polo
- Gardening
- Hiking
Youth Leadership Training Program NEW IN 2013!
This new program is designed to help young people build better leadership and life skills which will help them with everyday decision-making, problem-solving, and resourcefulness.
Through a combination of practical experience, classroom instruction, and special training sessions, our Pingry Youth Leaders will graduate the program with greater self-confidence and skills that will benefit them well into their high school years and beyond.
PYLs receive daily, personal mentoring by trained adult counselors.
- PYLs assist camp counselors and coaches in various capacities while working with a variety of different age groups.
- PYLs benefit from the Youth Leadership Class which includes:
- Successful public speaking techniques
- Group problem-solving strategies
- Exploring ethical and moral dilemmas
- Individual leadership studies
- PYLs will also earn Red Cross certifications in the following areas:
- Basic Water Rescue
- Babysitting
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

Extended Day Options NEW IN 2013!
While our traditional camp day ends at 3:00 p.m., there will be afternoon opportunities that run until 5:00 p.m. each day. The following options will be available for feature weeks during the summer of 2013:
