In Native American N. Scott Momaday's works—one of which was chosen as this summer's faculty/staff summer reading—the Pingry community has much to discuss.

Head Coach: Julie Delinsky
Last season's highlights: Last fall, the Girls' Varsity Field Hockey Team enjoyed a successful season, led by captains Mary Pagano '17, Amanda Celli '17, and Amanda Van Orden '17. The team finished with a record of 10-12-1 and a trip to the Somerset County Finals and the NJSIAA Group semifinals. Myla Stovall '18, a co-captain this year, reflects, "'I'd say for me the most memorable thing about last season was the bond we had as a team. I felt as if we were all really close and shared the same desire to do well in the season, and it really paid off." After 31 years of devoted coaching, Head Coach Judy Lee finished her final season with the team.
What to watch for this season:
• This season, team is excited to welcome new Head Coach Julie Delinsky, a former Division I player who, among several other coaching and teaching roles, served as head coach of the girls' varsity field hockey team at The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland from 2006–2013.
• Coach Delinsky's first goal for the season is to get to know the team and gain an understanding of what it needs to reach the next level. Based on the pickup games she has watched this summer, she says she is impressed by the girls' field sense and inherent sportsmanship.
• This year's captains, Myla Stovall '18, Josie Cummings '18, and Jenny Coyne '18, as well as the returning group of eight seniors, 11 juniors, and 17 sophomores, are ready to work hard for continued success. Fifteen incoming freshman will also be joining the program.
• Preseason practices begin August 15, and the first game will take place on September 7 against Hunterdon Central.
"My hope is to build on the program that Coach Lee has established over the last 30 years and help take the team to the next level." —Head Coach Julie Delinsky
