Led by freshman Jessica Lin, who won the epée competition, Big Blue girls dominated, and the boys' team took third.
The release of senior Brandon Rosen's first single, "Maybe I'm Crazy," on Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play, and other major platforms on December 17 took a split second, with the click of a mouse. Producing it in Germano Studios in New York took, by his estimation, 21 hours, or two very long work days. But, a pianist since the age of 6, Brandon has slowly and deliberately been building up to this achievement for the last 12 years.
A member of Pingry's jazz band, he was accepted at age 11 into The New School's Mannes School of Music Prep Program. Every Saturday morning since the sixth grade he has commuted into the city to attend classes. Also at age 11, he performed the National Anthem at a New Jersey Nets game at the Prudential Center. With the addition of voice lessons over the past year and a half, he finally felt he was ready to start recording. "Music has always been my passion," says the new recording artist. "I go home, write songs, and play the piano. That's my routine. Singer-songwriter is who I am."
Brandon will continue to pursue his passion next fall as one of only 50 accepted freshmen at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts' Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music.
Listen, purchase, and watch his video (featuring 2016 Miss World America winner Audra Mari!), now available on all music platforms. His next single, "Let's Runaway," will be released in January.
