Pingry LB/TE Evan Key ’14 has been named to the "Super 100" list by the New Jersey Football Coaches Association. As a linebacker, the senior led Pingry with 96 tackles and 5.5 sacks during the 2013 season. He also recovered one fumble and had one interception. On the offensive side of the ball, he was a dual threat who played on both passing and running downs. At tight end, Evan led Big Blue in receiving with 20 catches for 263 yards. As a running back, he carried the ball 46 times for 138 yards and three touchdowns.

A proud Pingry Head Coach Chris Shilts had this to say when asked about his senior: "Since he was a third-former (Grade 9), Evan has always been among the first to arrive and the last to leave practices and weight room sessions. He's a selfless, hard-working young man, and this recognition is a happy and well-earned result for all he's done for Pingry football. While his regular offensive position was tight end, in various formations he also played guard, tackle, wide receiver, fullback, tailback, and even quarterback. During his career on defense, he has played every position except nose guard and corner. We asked a lot from him, and we asked him because we were comfortable that he could do it. He took on every challenge as a great and wonderful opportunity, and he did it because it was the best for the team."

Congratulations, Evan—and Go Big Blue Football!
