Miller was a great coach, but a poor animal trainer. During the '67 season, his bassett (Jordie) peed on the referees jacket on the sidelines. Bad move!
I'm very sorry to miss the event he so richly deserves. I'll be out of the country. But I send him all the best and congratulations.
Thank you,
Bruce Conway '68

Tell Miller I am recovering from a hernia from carrying rocks off the Camp Waganaki Soccer field in 1963 and sacks of potatoes for Larry Karet in the kitchen.
Not the best recollection perhaps for the greatest "Master" of all time at Pingo. We could all make a book, ya know.

Aldo Tripicchio

I am a very good friend of Miller and have organized the team trips to Italy, so here are a few snapshots...

Memories and snapshots of Italy trips:

Our first trip:
Bruno the "slick" Bus Driver... going through the tight road in Florence with walls on both sides and ONE inch of space between the bus and the walls...Boys taking bets! Will he make it? Of course he did, without a scratch on the bus!!!

Eduardo the Bus Driver...Miller wins first bet with Aldo over Pavarotti fiscal woes...Eduardo, the "Judge" sides with Miller and tells us that Pavarotti has not paid the fine to the Italian IRS!  Eduardo does make up for it by taking us to his home to treat us to homemade salami and Parma prosciutto and opening some of his 900 bottles of his extensive wine collection!!!

The Hay Tractor bet in Tabiano...David Bugliari "makes a phone call" and manages to have a slow tractor pull in front of our bus so that Miller would win the bet on what time we would be back at the Hotel...Boys chanting and counting off the time...

The Perugia 4 hour trip that turns into a 7 hour trip due to holiday traffic...but the rest stop (Autogrill) gourmet lunch and the 11:30pm Hotel Dinner make up for the long trip...right Miller? I know...I said it was a 2 hour trip!!!

Miller never tipped the Bus Drivers...so all of our trips were taken in 90 degree temperature and NO Air Conditioning on the bus because the Bus Drivers turned it OFF!!!

Miller finds out that Aldo has an Air Conditioned room in Tabiano Hotel and he doesn't!!! He awards himself 10,000 points in trip contest and declares VICTORY!!!

The whole day walking tour of Rome, from Villa Borghese back to Via Veneto...passing through the Spanish Steps, Via Condotti, Mussolini's home, Miller's home, Piazza Venezia, restaurant at Castel Sant'Angelo for lunch, all the Book Stores on the way, the Vatican, etc., etc. But we both made it with flying colors...

Our very special trip to Santa Sofia D'Epiro in Calabria where we visited the Piazza Bugliari, Palazzo Bugliari (Yes folks, there are squares and buildings named after Miller!), the Byzantine church built by the Albanians in the 1300's, the official Town Hall welcome and tour guide by Giovanni the Historian. The day was capped by the roasted pork lunch and a stop in Cosenza. The San Michele Hotel (a 5 star hotel) in my home town of Cetraro, was all YOURS for 3 days...and my mom's dinners...you did upset her because... you didn't eat enough!!!

Miller, thank you for sharing so many great moments with me and my family.
Gianfranco and Anthony will always treasure the role you have played in their lives and for Gloria and Kristen, you have a special place in their hearts!
You are a true and very special friend and it has been a great pleasure and honor to have gotten to know you so well over the years.  This Hall of Fame award is a tribute to a great and deserving friend. From all of us...CONGRATULATIONS!!!      The Tripicchios
