In the fall of 2006, several faculty members and students joined together to form The Green Group, Pingry’s environmental awareness organization. The mission of The Green Group is to educate and enhance awareness about conservation and to pursue practical solutions to environmental problems.
Since its inception, The Group has welcomed more than eighty members and formed several committees, including a curriculum committee, a green cafeteria committee, and an events and communications committee.
The Green Group’s e-newsletter, Green News, was established to document and communicate its accomplishments, and its first major event, a forestry workshop, was held on May 19, 2007 to educate attendees about the school’s local environment.
Additional information about The Green Group can be found on a bulletin board located in the Engel Dining Room at the Martinsville Campus, or you can contact Peter Delman at pdelman@pingry.org.
