Students taking Leslie Wolfson’s Economics Principles and Issues course have once again tapped into their entrepreneurial spirits. As with each year, students were able to form companies of their choosing. In doing so, they learned how to write a business plan, elect officers of the company, “start” a company, get funding, and select, market, and manufacture a product before evaluating and analyzing its performance. One team/class section produced drinking glasses, while the other created Pingry towels. The final goal of the project is to donate the money earned from selling each item to a charity of choice. The students raised more than $2,000! All proceeds will go to the John Taylor Babbitt (JTB) Foundation, a nonprofit created in honor of this former Pingry student to further awareness of cardiomyopathy.
