Antoine duBourg Spring Festival:
Choral and Musical Groups to Perform In Honor of Beloved Teacher
May 2, 2003
On Thursday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m., come and join Pingrys Upper and Middle school students as they present the Antoine duBourg Spring Festival. Unlike the schools prior music festivals, this years event will be held in honor of beloved former music department chair and physics master Antoine duBourg, whose 47 years of distinguished service includes the creation of Pingrys all-male a cappella group, the Buttondowns.
Featured among the musical groups are the Upper and Middle school brass choir, the girls chorus, wind ensemble, and the Middle School orchestra. A variety of songs will be played from patriotic works to brass composition. Pingry Buttondowns will perform That Loving Feeling, while the chamber quartet will perform The Swan. Each piece will be directed by one of Pingrys current and talented music teachers Sean McAnally, Jennifer Runge, and Music Department Chair Dr. Andrew Moore.
Tickets are $5.00 and proceeds will be donated to the American Field Service which supports exchange students from around the world. The tickets may be purchased at the box office the evening of the concert, and refreshments will be provided following the show. For more information, please call the music department at (908) 647-5555 ext. 1339.
