P Stands for Pancakes, Pajamas, and Pingry!
March 25, 2003
What could be better than a pancake breakfast cooked by your teachers, eaten in your pajamas, and topped with syrup made from the tree outside your classroom window?
On Tuesday, March 25, Lower School science teacher Mrs. Cilli, invited the kindergarten students to enjoy fresh pancakes cooked in her classroom. Last fall the class studied the fine art of syrup making by tapping the sugar maple tree on campus and boiling the sap into wonderful maple syrup. Of course, pancakes taste best when eaten while wearing pajamas, which naturally leads to the study of the letter P.
The halls were filled with the odor of browning pancakes on the griddle and older students in the school slowly walked past Mrs. Cillis room fondly remembering their kindergarten pancake breakfast.
